Johor bahru: SRXGlobal, a Scanfil company, has announced the expansion and modernisation of its Johor Bahru facility, aimed at improving production capacity, quality, and operational efficiency.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the upgrade, which increases the production area by nearly 50 per cent, was officially inaugurated by the Embassy of Finland in Malaysia Deputy Head of Mission, Maiju Lepom¤ki. The event celebrated decades of Finnish-Malaysian economic ties, dating back to the Finnish embassy’s establishment in 1988.
Scanfil Group Chief Executive Officer, Christophe Sut, stated that the expansion and modernisation is a great showcase of the positive business environment in Malaysia. ‘Due to this predictable and business-friendly environment, Scanfil is committed to developing SRXGlobal’s operations in Johor Bahru with a long-term perspective, and we see great future opportunities,’ he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Lepom¤ki expressed enthusiasm about the development, saying: ‘We are excited to unveil the newly expanded and modernised Johor Bahru facility. This investment reflects the strong relationship between Finland and Malaysia.’
The 6,150 square metre Johor Bahru facility now features advanced machinery, updated information technology (IT) systems, and a revamped layout under the Scanfil Dream Factory programme, which aims for a ‘best-in-class’ factory where IT and data, processes, and technology work seamlessly together.
Currently employing 170 people, the facility specialises in electronics and complex box-build manufacturing using one-stop-shop principles. The event drew prestigious guests, including Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Director of Johor, Mohamed Reduan Mohamed Zabri, Malaysian-Finnish Chamber of Commerce Senior Advisor Mohamed Farid Mohamed Razali, alongside Sut and Scanfil Group Vice President of APAC, Christian Kesten.
