Kuala lumpur: The Sarawak Science Centre will play a key role in nurturing a new generation of science-savvy youths to support the state's hydrogen economy and address global challenges, the state Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the facility was described as a strategic investment in human capital development aimed at cultivating curiosity and scientific thinking among young Sarawakians, aligning with Sarawak's long-term vision beyond 2030. Abang Johari emphasized the importance of curiosity and the need for youths to study and analyze, facilitated by the common lab and laboratory available at the center, during his speech at the launching ceremony of the centre.

Located at Petra Jaya, the Sarawak Science Centre, also known as the Sarawak Science Centre Interactive Experience (SSCiEX), is the state's first large-scale interactive science hub. Abang Johari extended an invitation to scientists, researchers, and institutions globally to collaborate with Sarawak through the centre, aiming to establish the facility as an international hub for scientific research and innovation.

He highlighted that the centre was designed not only for the state or Malaysia but as a platform for global collaboration in addressing future challenges through science and technology. Abang Johari expressed hope that the centre would serve as a partner to international collaborators.
