Sarawak MPs Appointed as Deputy Ministers to Bolster Federal Ties

Kuala lumpur: The appointment of two Sarawak MPs as deputy ministers in the recent Cabinet reshuffle marks a strategic move to enhance the state's representation at the federal level, according to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. This development is seen as a step towards strengthening the collaboration between Sarawak and the federal government.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Cabinet reshuffle, announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, underscores the MADANI Government's commitment to creating a more balanced and capable administration for the nation. Nanta emphasized that despite varying political affiliations at the state level, unity within the federal framework prevails as part of the MADANI Government, with a focus on the national interest.

Nanta highlighted that the inclusion of more Sarawak deputy ministers is crucial for fostering a better understanding of the state's needs, contributing to balanced and comprehensive national policymaking. He assured that the deputy ministers are committed to serving all Malaysians, aligning with the federal administration's inclusive principles.

He further expressed confidence in Mas Gading MP Mordi Bimol, appointed as Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, emphasizing the importance of allowing him the opportunity to enhance the youth and national sports ecosystem. Similarly, Miri MP Chiew Choon Man, taking on the role of Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, was entrusted with the responsibility to perform his duties with professionalism and integrity.

The reshuffle announced by Anwar on Tuesday involved a total of 28 ministers and deputies, encompassing both portfolio changes and new appointments.
