Sarawak: Sarawak has fully recovered from floods following the closure of the last two temporary relief centres at the Sibu Jaya Community Hall and Kanowit Sports Complex Hall in Sibu Division this evening. The State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat confirmed that the Sibu Jaya Community Hall, which housed 25 victims, was closed at 1 pm, while the Kanowit Sports Complex Hall, which sheltered 185 victims, ceased operations at 5 pm after all evacuees were allowed to return home.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, earlier in the day, the relief centres at Asrama Belia Kapit and Dewan Suarah Kapit were closed at 9 am, followed by the Selangau Multipurpose Hall at 12 pm. The orderly closure of these centres marks the full recovery of the region from the recent floods, allowing all affected residents to return to their homes safely.
