Kuala lumpur: The roof of Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian's family house was blown off in a storm that hit several areas in Kuching this evening.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Sim shared in a Facebook post that he was in Bintulu when the incident occurred and expressed his gratitude that everyone at the house was safe.

He noted that several houses in the surrounding areas, including a mall, were also impacted by the storm. Dr Sim conveyed his appreciation for the concern shown in messages he received about the incident, stating, "Thank you very much to all the messages concerning the roof of my family house that was blown off by the storm."

He further extended his thanks to the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM), the Fire and Rescue Department, Sarawak Energy, and other agencies for their prompt response and assistance following the incident.
