Sales Executive Cheated Of RM50,750 In Fake Tender Scam

Kuala terengganu: A sales executive lost RM50,750 after falling victim to a fake tender scam.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor reported that the 29-year-old woman was approached on February 5 by a man impersonating a government officer.

The suspect presented an urgent tender opportunity to supply chairs and tables for a primary school canteen in the Marang district. To further the deception, the suspect provided the contact information of an accomplice who posed as a supplier, promising the items at a reduced cost.

Believing the proposal to be legitimate, the victim transferred RM50,750 at 2:25 am into an account specified by the suspect, using company funds. Subsequent investigations revealed that the tender was non-existent.

Upon realising the scam, the victim filed a police report at 5:27 pm the same day. The case is currently under investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
