Sabah Prepares for 63rd Malaysia Day Celebration at SICC

Kuala lumpur: The Sabah state-level 63rd Malaysia Day Celebration 2026 is scheduled to take place at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on September 16, beginning at 8.00 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the celebration's Main Committee chairman, Datuk Jafry Ariffin, presented the finalized program and preparation details during a courtesy call on Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Musa Haji Aman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu. Jafry, who also serves as Sabah Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Environment, emphasized the significance of the celebration as more than an annual event. He highlighted its role as a platform for Malaysians to reflect on the nation's history and foster unity, patriotism, and a shared sense of togetherness.

Jafry remarked, "Sabah holds a very important place in the history of Malaysia's formation. This celebration should allow us to remember the struggles of earlier generations while renewing our resolve to continue building a peaceful, progressive, and united nation." He expressed appreciation to Tun Musa for receiving the committee delegation and offering guidance to ensure a smooth and meaningful event.

Preparations for the state-level celebration are actively coordinated through collaboration among various ministries, government departments, and public agencies. Jafry urged all Sabahans to participate in the 63rd Malaysia Day Celebration, expressing their shared love for the state and nation, in alignment with the spirit of Malaysia MADANI and the Sabah Maju Jaya vision.
