Kuala lumpur: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Bugaya state seat, Abdul Manan Indanan, has made systematic settlement planning in Kampung Ayer his top priority, with the aim of creating a cleaner and more orderly environment. Abdul Manan, 54, said that the water village must be reorganised through a proper strategy to ensure its cleanliness is maintained, noting that Semporna has recently gone viral over issues related to the level of cleanliness.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Manan highlighted the worldwide attention the cleanliness issues in Semporna have garnered, particularly the garbage problem in the water village area. Addressing this, Abdul Manan stated, “Our mission is to improve the system so that cleanliness can be consistently maintained.” He made these remarks after visiting the District Voting Centre.
Abdul Manan also mentioned the proposal to relocate residents of Kampung Ayer for development purposes as another focus area. He assured that if a relocation centre is provided, the transition would be smooth; otherwise, he pledged to defend the residents’ right to stay in their villages.
Expressing his aspirations, Abdul Manan hopes that the 36,559 registered voters in the Bugaya state constituency will support his candidacy in the upcoming polls. Bugaya, known as a stronghold of the Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan), is part of the Semporna parliamentary constituency, which also includes Sulabayan and Senallang.
The Election Commission (EC) has announced that the polling day for the Sabah state election is set for Nov 29, with early voting scheduled for Nov 25.
