Kota kinabalu: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kunak seat in the Sabah state election, Datuk Seri Dr Anil Sandhu, has clarified that all titles and qualifications he holds, including academic credentials, are valid, recognised and supported by official records. He said allegations claiming otherwise were untrue and made with malicious intent to damage his reputation as BN’s candidate in Kunak.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anil expressed regret over the use of slander as a weapon by those who are apprehensive about facing healthy political competition. He emphasized that the people of Kunak are becoming more mature in their evaluation of candidates, focusing on work and capabilities rather than fabricated stories.
Anil stated that politics should be a platform for community building and advancement rather than undermining others with baseless accusations. He condemned the spread of slander as immoral and indicative of a lack of ideas among those employing such tactics.
He further expressed his trust in the people of Kunak to wisely distinguish truth from lies. Anil noted that while many have fallen victim to political slander in the past, the truth eventually surfaced, and he hopes the public will not be misled by those who twist facts.
Anil urged the community to remain focused on development, the future of their children, and the progress of Kunak, advocating for a rejection of slanderous politics in favor of a path rooted in integrity and fairness.
