Sabah BN Unveils Comprehensive Six-Point Development Plan for State

Kota kinabalu: Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah has introduced a comprehensive six-point development plan aimed at addressing core issues within a single term, as announced by its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, ahead of the 17th Sabah State Election.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized the manifesto’s significance, urging Sabahans to view it as a solid commitment rather than a mere political promise. Despite acknowledging BN’s position as an ‘underdog’ in the upcoming election, he expressed confidence in the strong support BN still enjoys among the people. The manifesto, known as Rancangan Pembangunan Sabah Satu (RPS1) or the One Sabah Development Plan, was meticulously prepared and launched strategically to allow voters ample time for comparison with other parties’ offers.

Ahmad Zahid highlighted the manifesto’s focus on inclusivity, ensuring no group is left behind, and praised the dedication of Sabah UMNO chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin in overcoming challenges from political rivals. He reaffirmed that BN and Sabah UMNO possess full autonomy to implement the pledges, backed by the central leadership’s support.

With 45 candidates fielded in the election, Ahmad Zahid expressed confidence in Sabah BN’s ability to execute the plans comprehensively if granted the mandate on November 29. He stressed the urgency of resolving key infrastructure issues such as roads, water supply, and electricity, pledging to address these within one term if BN returns to power.

Moreover, Ahmad Zahid, also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, highlighted that Sabah received the highest allocation under the 2026 Budget, underscoring the federal government’s commitment to the state’s development. He vowed to enhance allocations for rural areas if BN regains the mandate.

In preparation for the election, Ahmad Zahid urged the BN machinery to actively engage with voters to convey the manifesto’s message and rejuvenate BN’s spirit. BN is contesting 45 out of the 73 state seats, with 81 percent of its candidates being new faces, including a significant number of professionals and young individuals. Polling day is scheduled for November 29, with early voting set for November 25.
