Perak: The Sabah government will begin a comprehensive restructuring process of government-linked companies (GLCs) in the state involving the appointment of chairmen and board members. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the move is an administrative necessity to strengthen corporate governance and accountability, as well as inject new leadership to improve performance and drive the achievement of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 goal.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hajiji emphasized the need for a dynamic, professional and results-oriented leadership team to steer the new era driven by strategic investment, digitalisation, new energy and social development. He stated that the goal is to make GLCs an effective and reliable economic catalyst through competent management, in order to generate greater value for the people and the state.
Hajiji also expressed appreciation for the contributions of the previous leadership, while underscoring the necessity of a reshuffle to ensure effective transformation and continuity. The priority remains to ensure a stable, prosperous and secure future for Sabah in line with the aspirations of SMJ 2.0.
