Kota kinabalu: 'What the people want is quality of life, not Gardenia bread,' Sabah State Assembly Deputy Speaker Datuk Al Hambra Juhar stated today, urging assemblymen to fulfill their obligations with responsibility and integrity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, he emphasized that the mandate secured in the last election was not just a testament to public support, but a clear call for elected representatives to work diligently to enhance the standard of living in their constituencies. He highlighted the crucial role of assemblymen, both new and incumbent, in shaping the state's developmental trajectory.
'The people place great hope in all of you because you are responsible for uplifting the lives of the people in your constituencies. There is a saying that goes: not everyone can be rich, but each and every one of us deserves to live a better life,' he remarked at the commencement of the state assembly sitting.
Datuk Al Hambra Juhar reiterated that the priorities of the populace extend beyond mere political promises, requiring tangible enhancements in service access, economic opportunities, and overall life quality. He encouraged the assembly members to fulfill their promises, urging them to be passionate leaders and responsible representatives.
