Kota kinabalu: The introduction of new candidates by Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) for the upcoming 17th state election is a timely move that reflects the party’s commitment to bringing change and renewal to the state leadership. UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the move demonstrates BN’s seriousness in fielding capable and promising candidates to drive Sabah’s progress in line with national development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamed Khaled emphasized that the introduction of new faces shows BN’s dedication to change and provides opportunities for young candidates who might contribute to Sabah’s advancement. He made these remarks after launching the MADANI Adopt-a-School Programme by the Defence Ministry at Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Lok Heng.

Recently, Sabah BN announced 41 candidates, primarily new and young faces, while retaining some experienced leaders. The party is fielding 85 percent new faces, including young professionals, to showcase its readiness to implement significant changes and help lift Sabah out of poverty.
