Sabah and China to Enhance Strategic Collaboration, Says Chief Minister Hajiji

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor expressed confidence that the strategic relationship between Sabah and the People’s Republic of China will be further strengthened through diplomatic relations and joint development initiatives. The Sabah government is committed to creating a conducive, investor-friendly environment to attract more Chinese investments, particularly in strategic industrial areas.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hajiji emphasized the potential for enhanced cooperation during a statement made after a courtesy call from Dr Zhu Xinglong, the newly appointed Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kota Kinabalu. The Chief Minister noted that Dr Zhu’s presence is expected to invigorate bilateral cooperation across sectors such as investment, trade, tourism, and education.

Dr Zhu’s introductory visit to Sabah follows his recent appointment, succeeding Dr Huang Shifang as Consul General. During their meeting at Menara Kinabalu, Hajiji congratulated Dr Zhu on his new role and warmly welcomed him to Sabah, signaling a continued and prosperous partnership between the region and China.
