Klang Valley: Several roads in the Klang Valley and Putrajaya will be fully closed or diverted in stages from Tuesday to Thursday in conjunction with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri announced that 17 routes have been identified for temporary closures lasting between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the movement of the delegation. The closures will commence at 6 pm on April 15, affecting roads such as Lebuh KLIA, North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), and several others.
On April 16, starting from 9.30 am, additional closures will include major routes like Maju Expressway (MEX) and Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS). Further closures will occur at 12.30 pm and 4.10 pm. The same day, at 6.30 pm, closures will extend to roads including Persiaran Seri Perdana and Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman.
On April 17, closures will begin at 8.50 am, impacting roads such as the Putrajaya-Dengkil Expressway and Lebuh KLIA. A total of 378 police officers and personnel will be deployed for escort, traffic control, and enforcement duties.
Road users are advised to reschedule their journeys and use alternative routes to avoid congestion and comply with instructions from personnel.
