Taman paya emas: The Paya Rumput People's Residency Programme (PRR), a low-cost housing project costing RM80 million, is set to be developed in Taman Paya Emas here.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Melaka Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Rais Yasin stated that the project is funded under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT). He highlighted that the People's Residency Programme, previously known as the People's Housing Programme (PPR), marks the second initiative to be launched in the Paya Rumput state constituency, following the PPR Krubong.

Datuk Rais Yasin further explained that the PRR Paya Rumput is expected to deliver 280 housing units, providing an opportunity for residents of the Paya Rumput constituency to own their first homes. This announcement was made during the 'Demi Paya Rumput' Carnival.

In addition to the PRR Paya Rumput, Datuk Rais Yasin mentioned that the PRR Bukit Katil project is currently at the tender stage and is anticipated to commence this year.

In another development, he also noted that since 2021, 34 telecommunications towers have been constructed and are operational across the Paya Rumput constituency, with a total allocation of RM18.3 million. The construction of these towers aims to address internet coverage and speed issues, which are among the primary concerns of residents.
