Kuala terengganu: Over 14,000 civil servants in Terengganu will receive RM500 as special financial assistance in conjunction with Aidilfitri starting today. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar announced the initiative, aimed at alleviating the financial pressures faced by state civil servants during the Hari Raya celebrations.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the aid will be uniformly distributed to all government employees, irrespective of their grade. "In view of the approaching Hari Raya, the state government has fully disbursed the special financial assistance of RM500 today," Ahmad Samsuri stated during the National Terengganu Students Association (Permata) Appreciation and Grand Iftar ceremony, organized by Yayasan Terengganu.
Addressing the recent directive from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to forego Aidilfitri open houses this year, Ahmad Samsuri expressed support. He noted that the Prime Minister's message primarily concerns the use of public funds. Ahmad Samsuri mentioned that departments and agencies could still host Hari Raya events on a potluck basis, suggesting flexibility within the directive. He also informed that the traditional Menteri Besar's open house would not take place this year, aligning with the Prime Minister's guidance.
