RM2.35 Million Allocated for Infrastructure Upgrades in Batu Uban

George town: A total of RM2.35 million has been allocated to implement seven infrastructure maintenance and upgrading projects in the Batu Uban state constituency this year. Batu Uban assemblyman A. Kumaresan announced that the projects will cover areas including Lip Sin, Sungai Dua, Bukit Jambul, Batu Uban, Bukit Gambir, and Minden Heights. The work is expected to commence next month and is set for completion by December.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the projects include the upgrading of pedestrian walkways at Lengkok Nipah and Jalan Helang, each costing RM200,000. Additionally, RM200,000 has been earmarked for drain maintenance at Lintang Permai. Road maintenance at Lorong Endah, Lorong Rumbia 1 and 2, and Lorong Nipah 4 will each require RM500,000.

Furthermore, the maintenance of road lines in Jalan Bukit Gambir, Jalan Sungai Dua, Batu Uban, and adjacent areas is allocated RM250,000. These projects were identified through the Northeast District Development Action Committee (JTPD) meeting and feedback from local residents, including input via social media.

Kumaresan expressed gratitude to the Penang Public Works Department (JKR) for their cooperation and pledged to address infrastructure issues and meet the needs of Batu Uban residents effectively.
