Melaka: RM150,000 worth of food vouchers are prepared for visitors at the Melaka-level Chinese New Year celebration to be held at Jalan Rahmat 4, Malim Jaya this February 8. Kesidang Assemblyman Allex Seah Shoo Chin said about 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the celebration where they will be given food vouchers, each worth RM15.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, visitors are to use the vouchers to redeem food and drinks from the various food stalls at the venue. Seah mentioned that the approach of giving vouchers is designed to make it easier for visitors to choose food or drinks according to their preferences. “In a way, it is also to help the food traders,” he said.

Various programmes are also lined up to entertain the visitors, including arts and cultural performances. Seah stated that there would also be lucky draws offering a range of attractive and lucrative prizes for visitors, assuring them of ample parking space in the area. Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh is also expected to attend the event, which will run from 6 pm to 11 pm.
