Kuala lumpur: Regional cooperation will be critical to optimising resources and creating markets that are deep enough to support long-term investment in the energy landscape, said Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, TNB president and chief executive officer Datuk Ir Ts Shamsul Ahmad emphasized that no country can progress in isolation. He highlighted that Malaysia's growth trajectory, along with that of its regional peers, requires robust infrastructure and capabilities to sustain development.
Shamsul Ahmad pointed out the importance of talent in driving these systems. He stated, "Capability building, reskilling, and attracting the next generation of talents into the energy and digital sectors must therefore be treated as strategic priorities." These remarks were part of his closing address at the Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26) held yesterday.
