Raub Fire: JKM Provides Initial Support To Victims’ Children

Raub: The Pahang Department of Social Welfare (JKM) has provided initial support to reduce the trauma experienced by the victims' children, who have been affected by the house fire in Kampung Pamah Kulat, Dong here early today. Its director, Khairul Amri Ahmad, said his team has conducted visits, monitoring, and investigations at the scene.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Khairul Amri Ahmad stated that JKM counsellors have also provided initial psychological support to reduce the children's trauma. JKM has offered assistance from the state government, specifically the Immediate Assistance from the District Disaster Fund (TMD) amounting to RM2,000 to the victims' next of kin.

He further elaborated that JKM plans to provide additional assistance after the burial process is completed, including mats, blankets, refreshment kits, and hygiene kits to the victims' children.

The fire early this morning claimed the lives of Mohd Alawi Muhammad, 56, and Zaleha Adam @ Ibrahim, 44, as well as their three daughters, Ruby Adira Batrisya, 17, Ruby Adlina Banin, 14, and Ruby Azyan Barizah, 10. The couple's other two children, Ruby Adalia Balqis, 19, a matriculation student in Gambang, Kuantan, and Ahmad Balia Murqam, 15, a student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dong, were not at home as they were staying at their respective school's dormitory.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Datuk Mohd Razam Taja Rahim reported that the fire had destroyed the house, and three cars and three motorcycles were damaged.
