Ramssol Enters Indonesia EV Market Through Bike Leasing Partnership

Jakarta: Ramssol Group Bhd’s indirect subsidiary, PT Rider Gate Indonesia, has entered into a cooperation agreement with PT Smoot Motor Indonesia and PT Swap Energi Indonesia to introduce an integrated electric vehicle (EV) bike leasing ecosystem in Indonesia. The three-year agreement marks Ramssol’s official entry into the country’s burgeoning electric mobility sector.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the agreement outlines Rider Gate Indonesia’s plan to deploy 500 electric motorcycles by the end of the financial year 2025. The company intends to expand the fleet progressively over the contract period, aligning with the increasing adoption of EVs and demand from rider-partners.

The partnership combines the expertise of three significant players in the EV ecosystem. The aim is to establish a fully integrated EV leasing model that includes financing, vehicle supply, and convenient battery-swapping services.

PT Smoot, known for its ‘Smoot Elektrik’ brand, will supply the electric motorcycles. PT Swap will handle the provision and maintenance of the battery-swap infrastructure and two-wheel EV battery assembly. PT Swap is recognized as a pioneer in battery-swap technology.

Rider Gate Indonesia will acquire the motorcycles from PT Smoot and lease them to rider-partners. The leasing model is designed to be flexible and technology-driven, prioritizing affordability and operational efficiency.
