Kuala lumpur: QuantumNexis Sdn Bhd is making mental health assessment available to users through MindCare by Ziloy, which is accessible via a single app on TNG Digital, with more than 27 million verified users in Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, QuantumNexis Malaysia chairman Dr. Suresh Venkatachari stated that the platform aims to provide Malaysians with easy access to mental health assessments and professional support amid the stigma surrounding mental health issues. He emphasized the ease with which individuals can access mental health assessments and reach out to professionals such as counsellors, clinical psychologists, or psychiatrists. The platform offers users questionnaires to evaluate their mental wellbeing and determine actionable steps for improvement.
Dr. Suresh noted that the platform incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) features to deliver convenient and accessible mental wellbeing support as part of users' daily lives. He highlighted the robust nature of the platform and its capacity to integrate AI to help users maintain regular checks on their mental health. The partnership with TNG Digital aims to leverage its extensive user base to broaden access to mental health support across Malaysia.
With more than 27 million TNG verified users in Malaysia, the platform has significant potential to expand access to mental health support. Dr. Suresh expressed optimism about achieving a target where at least 10 percent of TNG customers access MindCare by Ziloy. Additionally, QuantumNexis plans to expand MindCare by Ziloy to Indonesia and Singapore within six months, viewing Malaysia as a model for further geographical expansion.
QuantumNexis Malaysia's chief medical director, Datuk Dr. Andrew Mohanraj, addressed the increasing concern of mental health issues among Malaysians, noting that statistics indicate one in three adults experience some form of mental health concern. Dr. Andrew, who is also the Malaysian Mental Health Association president, clarified that this statistic should not be misconstrued to mean that one in three Malaysians has a mental illness, as some individuals may only have symptoms that could develop into a mental health condition.
He also highlighted the global trend towards rising mental health concerns, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, and emphasized the psychological impact that has yet to be fully addressed. Dr. Andrew pointed to workplace mental health as an area requiring greater attention due to its strong link to productivity and potential economic impact, which is expected to reach RM100 billion by 2030 if not appropriately addressed.
The launch of MindCare by Ziloy is aimed at helping normalize discussions on mental health and encouraging Malaysians to take the first step in seeking support. The platform currently includes about 10 psychiatrists, along with clinical psychologists and counsellors, with plans to increase the number of professionals available.
