Kangar: A teenage girl with learning disabilities who was reported missing while at the Simpang Empat Health Clinic, about 13 kilometres from here on May 7 was found safe yesterday evening. Kangar district police chief ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said the 13-year-old girl's mother found her at the house of the girl's female friend in Simpang Empat at about 6.30 pm after being informed by the mother's relatives via phone at 6.06 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the girl's statement revealed that she left the health clinic on foot to Bank Simpanan Nasional in Simpang Empat to check her learning disability assistance money before deciding to go to her friend's house. "She told her friend's parents she had permission from her mother to spend the night at the house. The teenage girl said was bored and has no friend to chat with," he said in a statement today.

Yusharifuddin said before the teenage girl was discovered missing by her mother on Thursday, she told her 34-year-old mother that she wanted to go to the toilet at the health clinic at about 2.40 pm. He said police also advised the teenage girl not to repeat the act and she had also apologised to her mother by promising not to behave like that again.

Yesterday BERNAMA reported that the police were tracking down the teenage girl who was reported missing while at the health clinic after receiving a report of her disappearance by her mother at 9.33 pm on Thursday.
