Putrajaya Residents Urged Not To Panic Over Sounds Of Cannon Fire

Putrajaya: The public, particularly those living near the Federal Government administrative centre in Putrajaya, has been advised not to be alarmed by the sound of cannon fire scheduled for June 3 and 5. Putrajaya district police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed stated that the noises would originate from ceremonial cannon salutes performed by the Malaysian Armed Forces during the Trooping of the Colours Parade for His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, at Dataran Pahlawan Negara in Presint 1, Putrajaya.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aidi Sham Mohamed elaborated that two ceremonial cannon shots would be fired during the full rehearsal starting at 8.30 am on Wednesday, June 3. He also mentioned that the actual ceremony on Friday, June 5, will feature 21 cannon shots to be fired simultaneously.

Aidi Sham further informed that three main roads would see temporary closures from 7 am. These roads include Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Lebuh Perdana Timur, and surrounding routes near Complex E. Traffic is anticipated to be heavy in the affected areas between 7 am and 10 am. Consequently, road users are urged to adhere to police instructions, plan their journeys accordingly, and consider alternative routes to avoid congestion.
