Poor Finishing Costs Terengganu FC In Draw With Selangor

Kuala terengganu: Poor finishing proved costly for Terengganu FC (TFC) as they were held by Selangor FC in a Super League match at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) here last night. TFC acting head coach Tengku Hazman Raja Hassan noted that this persistent issue resulted in the Turtles dropping two valuable points at home.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tengku Hazman expressed satisfaction with the overall performance and the fighting spirit demonstrated by his players until the final whistle. He acknowledged, however, that the team's inability to capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities, particularly in the second half, remains a concern. "From what I saw, the players are still facing the same issue - creating many chances, especially in the second half, but failing to turn them into goals," he told reporters after the match.

The match concluded with TFC and the Red Giants settling for a 1-1 draw. Despite the draw, Selangor FC head coach Kim Pan Gon commended his players for their resilience, particularly after being reduced to 10 men in the second half. He remarked that although the aim was to secure all three points, he remained pleased with the single point achieved under challenging circumstances. "We had a very tough game. Terengganu started better and the players were very aggressive and strong. But in the second half, even with 10 players, we created some chances. I am very proud of my players," he said.

In terms of standings, Selangor FC currently holds second place in the Super League with 32 points from 16 matches, trailing behind Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT). Meanwhile, TFC occupies the fifth position with 25 points, also from 16 matches.
