Bukit berapit: The police will utilise all legal instruments, including extradition, to assist in investigations into alleged corporate manipulation activities, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. He said the ongoing investigation into the case was being conducted under the Penal Code and the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin emphasized the commitment to bringing individuals back to Malaysia if they are overseas and needed for statements to aid the investigation. He assured that all available processes would be employed to facilitate this. Saifuddin expressed confidence in the police's capability, mentioning that he receives regular updates on the investigation's progress.
Saifuddin shared these remarks during a press conference following his visit and monitoring of border control operations at the Malaysia-Thailand Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex in Bukit Berapit. Previously, on March 18, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail stated that businessman Victor Chin, allegedly involved in corporate manipulation activities, was currently abroad.
