Police Issue Over 150 Summonses In Integrated Operation In Genting Highlands

Genting highlands: The Bentong district police headquarters (IPD) issued 154 summonses on various traffic offences through the Integrated Crime Prevention Special Roadblock (SJR) Operation at KM14 Jalan Genting Highlands yesterday. Its district police chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar, stated that the summonses were issued as a result of inspections on 246 vehicles during the roadblock.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar highlighted that the detected offences included exhaust modifications, registration numbers not according to specifications, absence of a driver's licence, lack of road tax, missing side mirrors, use of unauthorised accessories, and failure to wear a seatbelt. He mentioned that the operation would continue following complaints and information regarding vehicles racing and making noise from modified exhausts, which disturbed visitors and residents in the area.

In the same operation, Zaiham noted that a foreign woman was detained under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for failing to produce identification documents or a passport. Meanwhile, the Bentong IPD announced in a Facebook post that the operation took place from 10 pm yesterday until 2 am this morning. The operation involved a force of 27 officers and police personnel from the Bentong IPD, with assistance from the Genting Highlands Auxiliary Police.
