Penampang: The police are conducting further investigations into several viral videos on social media depicting brawls at the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) near here during the recent Kaamatan Festival celebrations. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Penampang Deputy District Police Chief DSP Erwansyah Abdul Basir stated that preliminary investigations revealed the incidents were believed to have stemmed from misunderstandings between several individuals.

Erwansyah clarified that the brawls did not involve the use of any weapons and were successfully broken up by bystanders at the scene. "So far, statements have been taken from several individuals to assist with the investigation," he mentioned in a statement released today.

The police are actively identifying all individuals involved and are tracking down witnesses to the incidents. Viral video recordings are being closely examined to aid the investigation and further action. Erwansyah advised the public not to make any speculations or spread unverified information regarding the incidents, as it could affect the investigation and disrupt public order.

Authorities have also urged anyone with information regarding the incidents to immediately channel it to the nearest police station.
