Kuala lumpur: PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd (PNBMV), the developer of the Merdeka 118 precinct in Kuala Lumpur, has appointed Datuk Ir Ts Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective Jan 1, 2026.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Izwan Hasli, who previously held the position of CEO at Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, will lead the next phase of development for the Merdeka 118 precinct. His focus will be on actualizing key components of the project, including the 118 Mall, The View at 118 Observation Deck, and the Merdeka Textile Museum.
The company stated that Izwan Hasli brings over 25 years of leadership experience in prominent Malaysian firms such as Petronas, KLCC Group of Companies, and Putrajaya Holdings. His expertise spans various sectors including real estate development, asset management, oil and gas, and technology.
PNBMV, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), highlighted Izwan Hasli's priorities which include driving operational excellence, enhancing asset value, and ensuring that Merdeka 118 evolves into a fully integrated and vibrant precinct.
Izwan Hasli expressed that 2026 is set to be a pivotal year with the launch of major attractions that will enliven the precinct. By integrating innovation, utilizing digital capabilities, and prioritizing people and community, the aim is to position Merdeka 118 as a benchmark for excellence in integrated development.
Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, PNB group chairman, expressed confidence that under Izwan Hasli's leadership, PNBMV will continue to advance the Merdeka 118 precinct as a significant contributor to Malaysia's urban development goals.
PNBMV, established in June 2000, is the landowner and sole custodian of Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara, both designated as 'National Heritage' sites in October 2005 under the National Heritage Act 2005.
