Melaka: A total of 34 people from eight families have been evacuated to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Parit Penghulu here tonight due to floods.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Melaka state disaster management committee secretariat reported that Kampung Parit Perawas Benteng and Kampung Tasek Benteng have been affected by floods resulting from the spillover of Sungai Rambai.

The relief centre was opened at 3.45 pm after both villages suffered flooding, as stated by the committee.
