Serdang: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, are scheduled to attend the national-level Maulidur Rasul 1448H/2026M celebration at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre (PKKSSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, tomorrow.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee stated that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan would also be present at the event. The celebration, themed 'MADANI Dihayati, Ummah Diberkati', is set to commence at 7.30 am. The event will feature about 4,000 participants from 100 contingents representing various ministries, agencies, and statutory bodies.

The celebration is being organised with UPM as a strategic partner, providing both the venue and logistical support to ensure a smooth and comfortable programme. Sirajuddin highlighted that the event's highlight would be the presentation of the Maulidur Rasul 1448H/2026M Awards, which include one Perdana Award and eight Maulidur Rasul SAW Awards. These awards aim to acknowledge individuals who have contributed significantly to religion, community, and country, while positively impacting societal well-being.

The chosen theme aims to inspire the community to emulate Prophet Muhammad SAW in fostering a progressive, united, and prosperous society. Key activities will include a contingent parade with selawat recitations, a special women's forum, and programmes organised by the National Mosque, Putra Mosque, and Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque.

Sirajuddin also mentioned that JAKIM is promoting a deeper appreciation of Maulidur Rasul through a special edition of the 'JAKIM Untuk Ummah' podcast and 'Uswatun Hasanah' segments on Zayan Radio, which will feature messages about the character, conduct, and exemplary qualities of Prophet Muhammad SAW. This year's celebration will be modest yet lively, maintaining its spirit and dignity while focusing on strengthening the propagation of Islam.

The public is invited to attend the celebration, which will continue until noon, and the event will be broadcast live on RTM TV1, as well as through several radio stations and JAKIM's official social media platforms.
