PM Anwar Visits PAS Spiritual Leader Undergoing Treatment in Penang

Penang: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today visited PAS Spiritual Leader Datuk Hashim Jasin, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Penang Hospital. Anwar, who is on a one-day working visit to Penang and Kedah, stated that Hashim, an old friend of his, is in good condition and that they even had the opportunity to speak at length.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar conveyed greetings from his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, to Hashim and his family, while also praying for the continued well-being and speedy recovery of Uztaz Hashim. Hashim, 87, was transferred from Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) in Perlis to the Penang Hospital on February 18 to undergo a stenting procedure.

During his visit, Anwar also took the time to meet a Ministry of Health (MOH) nurse who had been involved in a road accident while on her way to work at the hospital. He acknowledged the sacrifices of healthcare workers, appreciating their significant contributions in caring for and serving the community.

Before concluding his visit, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, received an update on the hospital's upgrading project. This project aims to ensure that efforts to improve healthcare services continue to run smoothly for the benefit of the people.

The Prime Minister later attended the opening of the Mengkuang Titi Mosque and the Nuzul Quran 1447H celebration in Permatang Pauh, near Penang.
