Kuala lumpur: Five individuals, including a woman, were arrested for online gambling activities during raids at two premises around Bukit Jalil here yesterday. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus stated that the first raid, at about 1 pm, was conducted against office premises in the area, resulting in the arrest of a 36-year-old local woman.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the arrest led to another raid on a nearby condominium, where four Chinese nationals, three men and a woman, aged 25 to 35, were apprehended while managing the online gambling website. Investigations revealed that all suspects acted as agents managing, promoting, and organizing online gambling targeting clients from China, with all the Chinese nationals having entered the country using tourist passes.
The authorities have remanded all suspects for three days until Monday for further investigation, as confirmed by Datuk Fadil Marsus.
