PM Anwar Urges Muslims To Strengthen Worship, Piety During Ramadan

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysian Muslims to deepen their acts of worship and enhance their piety in embracing the blessings of Ramadan. Anwar described Ramadan as madrasah tarbiah ruhiyah (a spiritual training ground that educates, tests, and purifies individuals, shaping the inner strength of the ummah (the faithful)), especially in a world facing the challenges of materialism and spiritual emptiness.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized the importance of Ramadan as a period that illuminates both the heart and mind, providing a spiritual journey to understand faith, piety, and hope. Citing Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he noted that observing Ramadan with faith and hope would lead to the forgiveness of past sins.

Anwar further highlighted the role of Ramadan in elevating social and humanitarian values, urging the public to show compassion towards the less fortunate and those facing hardships globally. He stressed that fasting transcends abstinence from food and drink, serving as a means to subdue arrogance, reject oppression and injustice, and restrain greed.

The Prime Minister encouraged Muslims to cleanse their hearts of hatred, uphold justice, and cultivate kindness. He urged them to avoid wastefulness, return to Allah SWT, and seek His forgiveness to attain blessings.
