PM Anwar Stresses Development Priorities in Sabah

Tuaran: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has emphasized the need to prioritize development projects in Sabah, focusing on essential areas such as electricity supply, industrial parks, housing, and road repairs. He highlighted the importance of aligning basic facilities with economic development to ensure the well-being of the people in the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, during a meeting at the Tuaran District Office, discussions were centered on the performance and implementation of projects under the Malaysia Plan in Sabah. Topics included the status of ongoing projects, priority projects for 2026, and issues related to hardcore poverty. The discussion also covered the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) initiative, the status of the SejaTi MADANI Project, the MADANI Adopted Village Project, and the People’s Housing Project (PPR). Additional applications for road repairs in the state were also considered.

The Prime Minister’s Facebook page post came after he attended a briefing session and the Sabah state development meeting at the Tuaran District Office, which was also attended by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. Following the meeting, Anwar participated in the Sabah state-level MADANI Breaking of Fast event at Padang Istiadat.

Moreover, Anwar expressed his appreciation for Chief Minister Hajiji, the state administration, and local community leaders. He commended their efforts in maintaining political stability and fostering cooperation, crucial for attracting investment and promoting economic growth in Sabah.
