PM Anwar Strengthens Ties with Japan Through Strategic Dialogue

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from The Genron NPO President Yasushi Kudo to continue discussions on strengthening the Asia Leaders Roundtable as a platform for strategic dialogue in addressing regional and global challenges. The Genron NPO is a Japan-based non-profit, independent think tank.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post, Anwar highlighted that the meeting also aimed at strengthening ties between Malaysia and Japan. He expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government for their warm welcome and hospitality during his official visit to Japan in June.

Anwar emphasized the importance Malaysia places on its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Japan, acknowledging Japan as one of the nation's most significant strategic and economic partners. He also thanked Yasushi Kudo for the invitation to attend the Tokyo Conference 2027 and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to deliver a video message at the 2026 conference.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that the close ties between the two countries, as well as cooperation with The Genron NPO, would continue to be strengthened in pursuit of shared peace, stability, and prosperity.
