Pahang: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended a cash contribution to a fisherman in Pahang who has been experiencing income loss over the past five months.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the financial aid was delivered to 39-year-old Supian Saman by the Prime Minister’s political secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, at Kampung Darat Sungai Ular, Cherating, under the Zirah MADANI initiative. Ahmad Farhan highlighted the challenges faced by fishermen, especially during rough sea conditions. He noted that due to strong waves, fishermen have been unable to venture out to sea for four to five months, severely impacting their daily income.
Ahmad Farhan further explained that Supian and his family are living in a deteriorating house, with walls on the verge of collapse and a roof that struggles to withstand heavy rain. To address this, he mentioned that the Pahang Implementation Coordination Unit will assist in repairing the fisherman’s house to ensure their comfort and safety.
In addition to the financial aid, Ahmad Farhan emphasized that the Ziarah MADANI programme is aimed not only at visiting those in need but also at providing substantial assistance. He expressed hope that Supian and his family would receive blessings and that their affairs would be managed smoothly.
