PM Anwar: Malaysia Appreciates Pakistan’s Role In Iran-US Negotiations

Malaysia: Malaysia appreciates Pakistan's role in the ongoing mediation efforts involving negotiations between Iran and the United States, including the country's willingness to host the next round of talks. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the matter was discussed during a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Shehbaz Sharif, today, adding that they also touched on various regional developments and efforts to strengthen Malaysia-Pakistan bilateral relations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar conveyed Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha greetings to Shehbaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan, expressing hope that the spirit of sacrifice and brotherhood would continue to strengthen peace and prosperity. Anwar highlighted that their discussion included positive developments in negotiations between Iran and the United States, such as the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, critical for regional trade stability and security.

Anwar reiterated Malaysia's commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful approaches to ensure stability in the West Asian region. He emphasized the importance of the international community taking firm measures to address violence against civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

The conversation underscored the mutual aspirations of Malaysia and Pakistan to strengthen bilateral relations, based on friendship, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to global peace and prosperity.
