PM Anwar Lauds Erdogan’s Hospitality During Turkiye Visit

Ankara: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the warm hospitality extended to him during his official visit to the republic.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar also conveyed his prayers for Erdogan, Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan, and their family, wishing them good health, strength, and wisdom to lead the republic towards peace, prosperity, and justice for the well-being of the people and the broader Muslim world.

Anwar mentioned that he and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, along with the Malaysian delegation, were honored to be hosted by Erdogan and Emine at an official dinner held in a friendly atmosphere at the Presidential Complex.

Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, is on a three-day official visit to Turkiye at Erdogan's invitation, which began last Tuesday. The visit aims to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries.

Malaysia's total trade with Turkiye from January to November 2025 reached RM21.2 billion (USD4.92 billion), with Turkiye remaining an important economic partner for Malaysia. In 2024, Turkiye was Malaysia's third-largest trading partner, largest export destination, and fourth-largest source of imports among West Asian countries, with total trade valued at RM24.15 billion (USD5.28 billion).
