Madani: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed that all aspects of government digital service development be carried out internally to safeguard data security and sovereignty. The directive was conveyed by MADANI Government spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the Communications Minister, during a Cabinet meeting today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi stated that the internal development of digital services would be overseen by the Ministry of Digital through the National Digital Department. This approach is intended to ensure data security and sovereignty, provide direct access to source code, and foster talent development, particularly among civil servants. Fahmi shared these insights during a post-Cabinet meeting press conference.

In a related development, Fahmi noted that the Prime Minister had also called for firm action against any parties found to be abusing licences, visas, or business facilities within the country. He emphasized that relevant authorities would be responsible for taking legal action, reminding all business operators to comply with regulations and laws, especially those with licences for conducting business or commercial activities.
