Penang: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has embarked on a two-day working visit to Penang, set to engage in various programmes centered around community development, education, skills training, and heritage conservation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister's itinerary begins with the launch of the Indian Muslim Transformation Framework (IMTF) 2030 Programme at PICCA@Arena Butterworth Convention Centre at 8.30 pm tonight. Anwar's schedule is packed with significant engagements aimed at fostering growth and development within the community.

Tomorrow, Anwar will attend the National Training Week (NTW) 2026 Summit at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Permatang Pauh at 9.30 am. This will be followed by the inauguration of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Sheikh Tahir Jalaluddin in Bukit Mertajam and the launch of the Nuqaba Programme at 10.45 am. The school, named after the esteemed Islamic scholar Sheikh Tahir Jalaluddin, aims to bolster Islamic education and promote harmony within a diverse society.

Continuing his visit, Anwar, who also serves as the Finance Minister, will officiate the Himpunan Usahawan Bumiputera Pulau Pinang (HUBPP) and the 14th Penang International Halal Trade Exhibition (PIHEX) at Seberang Perai Polytechnic, Permatang Pauh at 2 pm. His tour will conclude with the opening ceremony of Fort Cornwallis in George Town at 3.30 pm.

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil is set to accompany Anwar during the HUBPP and PIHEX events. The minister will also visit the Nordin Ahmad Employee Gallery at Sekolah Kebangsaan Permatang Pasir, Permatang Pauh at 4 pm, marking the end of a busy agenda focused on community and economic development in Penang.
