PM Anwar Calls for National Rejection of Hatred and Racism

Johor bahru: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to reject extreme racism and the politics of hatred, advocating instead for unity and mutual respect among citizens.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, who also serves as the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman, emphasized that his administration is committed to implementing fair policies for all races, ensuring that no community is left behind. He urged citizens to negotiate and work together as Malaysians, highlighting the importance of friendship and brotherhood.

During his address at the 'Yok! Merahkan Johor! Undi Harapan' event at Taman Pelangi Indah Public Field, Anwar dismissed claims that the MADANI Government favors the Chinese community, asserting that all policies introduced are aimed at benefiting the nation as a whole. He also refuted allegations that government assistance to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is racially biased, pointing out the sector's crucial role in the national economy and its diverse workforce.

Anwar acknowledged the need for further progress in empowering the Indian community and improving their standard of living. He also defended the government's decision to extend the tax exemption for Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) for ten years, describing it as a vital educational initiative for developing national human capital, free from racial and political biases.

Emphasizing the non-political nature of education, Anwar reiterated his support for initiatives that benefit all Malaysians, regardless of their origin. He urged against politicizing educational matters, warning that such actions could create false perceptions of racial discrimination by the government.
