Planning and Spending in Perlis Must Be Carried Out With Full Integrity, Declares Perlis Ruler

Arau: The Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail has mandated that all state planning and expenditure initiatives in Perlis be executed with complete integrity, prudence, and responsibility, ensuring that they deliver clear and tangible benefits to the people. His Royal Highness emphasized the necessity of transforming good plans from paper to practice with effective implementation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin expressed that every planned project must be executed efficiently, closely monitored, and completed within a reasonable timeframe to ensure timely benefits for the people. He stressed the importance of not being constrained by tradition, urging that necessary improvements be made and outdated practices be abandoned. His Royal Highness highlighted that the courage to effect change is essential for progress.

During the first session of the Investiture Ceremony for Perlis State Honours at Istana Arau, held in conjunction with his 83rd birthday, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin stated, "Every trust entrusted must be carried out with full integrity, sincerity, and a high sense of responsibility for the interests of the people and the state." The ceremony was also attended by the Raja Perempuan of Perlis Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid.

The Perlis Ruler underscored the significant responsibility borne by those in leadership positions in the state, including elected representatives, to make decisions based on the people's interests rather than narrow or short-term considerations. He called for the optimal use of available platforms to discuss constructive matters and generate new ideas capable of bringing meaningful change, emphasizing the need for close cooperation and strong determination.

In addition, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin urged the strengthening of unity and harmony among the people, noting that in a challenging world, true strength lies in unity, mutual respect, and the ability to progress as a united society. He praised the multiracial society of Perlis for living in peace and harmony, describing diversity as a strength that requires continuous nurturing and maintenance by all parties.

Furthermore, His Royal Highness decreed that the conferment of honours is a trust that obliges recipients to uphold integrity, character, and high standards of conduct while serving as role models to society. He congratulated the recipients of honours, stars, and medals during the birthday celebration, acknowledging their services and contributions.

The investiture ceremony saw the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail leading the list of 24 recipients of state honours with the conferment of the Seri Setia Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail (S.S.S.J), carrying the title Datuk Seri Diraja. Additionally, the S.S.S.J was conferred upon the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and the Tengku Puteri Mahkota of Perlis Datuk Seri Datin Paduka Hajah Sharifah Fazira Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail. Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar received the Seri Paduka Mahkota Perlis (S.P.M.P), which carries the title Datuk Seri.
