PKR Committed To Ensuring National Progress Benefits All, Says Anwar

Kuala lumpur: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that national progress benefits all segments of society, and not merely a privileged few, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said. The PKR president emphasized that since its establishment, the party has served as a platform for change, upholding justice and uplifting the dignity of the people.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar attended the PKR Mini Convention and officiated the party's divisional meetings for Sarawak. He expressed the importance of such gatherings with the party's extended family, stating that PKR is not merely a political organization but a movement born out of the determination to bring change, uphold justice, and elevate the dignity of people as a whole.

Anwar highlighted that PKR has consistently carried the voice of communities of various races and regions, including championing native customary rights (NCR) land issues in Sarawak, as well as the welfare of the people in Sabah, Kelantan, Perlis, and Johor. He stressed that the country can only remain peaceful and strong when shared interests form the basis of the struggle, transcending narrow sentiments of race, locality, or group.

At the convention, Anwar also urged party leaders, members, and activists to further strengthen unity and remain committed to the reform agenda. He acknowledged that the real test in implementing changes or reforms is when one is in power, not after being ousted. Anwar admitted that not all reforms can be achieved in the aspired time frame but emphasized the importance of consistency and recognizing imperfection while striving for the best.

Anwar concluded by stating that his strength today is anchored in the strength of the party, highlighting the contributions of its divisions, branches, youth, and women's wings, which continue to energize the spirit to realize a Malaysia that is just, prosperous, and dignified.
