PKNS Distributes 6,000 Bubur Lambuk Containers In 20-Year Tradition

Shah alam: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is continuing its 20-year tradition of distributing free bubur lambuk, with 6,000 containers prepared for its staff and the public throughout this Ramadan. PKNS, in a statement today, said RM48,000 has been allocated for the distribution under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Ramadan Kasih PKNS.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in conjunction with today's launch, 1,000 containers were distributed to the public, particularly those in the vicinity of Shah Alam. For the first time, the launch and distribution were held at Aneka Walk to promote the location as a new destination expected to become a main attraction for Shah Alam residents.

The launch was attended by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, State Rural Development, Unity, and Consumers Committee chairman Datuk Rizam Ismail, and PKNS group chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas. Several Selangor FC players, including Safuwan Baharudin, Faisal Halim, Harith Haiqal, Zikri Khalili, and Izwan Yuslan, also participated in distributing the porridge.

PKNS added that the distribution of bubur lambuk for PKNS staff is scheduled for February 25, March 4, and March 11, with 1,000 containers allocated to each session. For the public, the distribution will continue on March 4 at the Datum Jelatek Shopping Centre and on March 11 at Evo Mall, involving 1,000 containers at each venue.

In addition to the porridge distribution, PKNS presented RM10,000 worth of Bakul Ramadan Kasih to Yayasan Belia Malaysia. The contribution, comprising necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, and eggs, will benefit 50 underprivileged families during this holy month.

PKNS noted that as in previous years, it has organised various CSR initiatives for Ramadan. This included the first programme held on February 7, where 26 orphans from the Pertubuhan Pengurusan Asrama Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Miskin Sekendi, Sabak Bernam, were taken on a Raya shopping trip. Subsequent programmes include donations to the same home on February 21 and to the Asrama Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Pulau Indah on March 1 at Masjid Kampung Raja Uda, followed by the Ramadan Kasih PKNS Iftar event at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC).

PKNS emphasised that these initiatives reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting the underprivileged while fostering a spirit of togetherness and Ramadan blessings during the holy month.
