PJRM Remains Popular for Affordable Aidilfitri Shopping

Ipoh: The MADANI Rahmah Sales Programme (PJRM) continues to be the people's choice to obtain essential goods at lower prices, especially leading up to Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Trader Khairul Azhar Zakaria, 36, expressed his satisfaction with the programme, noting that he purchased various items such as chicken, meat, fish, and other essentials at prices significantly lower than those in stores or supermarkets. Khairul mentioned spending approximately RM140 on wet goods and RM129 on dry goods, emphasizing the program's utility as Aidilfitri approaches.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, contractor Zaid Zakaria, 35, also spoke positively about the sales programme. He noted that he regularly attends these events due to the notable price differences compared to regular markets. Zaid reported spending over RM200 on wet goods and less than RM100 on dry goods, expressing gratitude to the government for its support. He highlighted that some items were 40 to 50 percent cheaper than elsewhere, with supplies readily available at the programme compared to regular shops.

Higher education student Nabilah Insyirah Mohd Noordin, 22, from Chepor, shared her experience of attending the programme with her mother to purchase items for their Raya open house. She mentioned that their purchases included rice, chicken, and dry goods, all offered at prices lower than regular stores. Nabilah expressed relief and gratitude for the programme, acknowledging the financial ease it provided compared to shopping at traditional stores.

Meanwhile, Perak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living director Datuk Kamaluddin Ismail announced that a total of 266 PJRM events would take place throughout the Aidilfitri period, running from March 16 to April 19.
