Putrajaya: Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd (PjH) is spending more than RM106 million to upgrade its Alamanda shopping centre here, said its chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim. He stated that the upgrade involves over 200,000 square feet of floor space and introduces new attractions such as the Escape Putrajaya theme park, a puppet stage, and an additional shop lot.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this is the largest renovation project undertaken by PjH since Alamanda’s opening in 2004. Izwan Hasli emphasized the necessity of the upgrade after 20 years, expressing confidence that the renovated shopping centre will serve as a catalyst for the broader Putrajaya area. The inauguration ceremony for the upgraded shopping centre was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territory) Dr Zaliha Mustafa and Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd CEO Francis Tan.
Izwan Hasli highlighted PjH’s commitment to advancing Putrajaya through three main values: catalytic value, commercial value, and social value. He expressed the aspiration to make Putrajaya “The Best Address In Malaysia.” Furthermore, he announced plans to open a new hotel, the Fraser Residence, by the end of the year, marking the company’s third hotel venture after The Everly Hotel and DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside.
In a related development, Izwan Hasli revealed that PjH will collaborate with the Pulse Group, owned by Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj), to organize the ASEAN Food Festival during Ramadan. This event is tied to Malaysia’s ASEAN 2025 chairmanship. The two PjH-owned hotels will work with the Pulse Grande Hotel and the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) to ensure the festival’s success, offering menus with ASEAN flavors to promote the ASEAN chairmanship.
