PH-BN To Finalize Melaka Election Strategy By Malaysia Day: Amirudin

Kuala lumpur: Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) are poised to reach a decision regarding their collaborative strategy for the upcoming Melaka state election by September 16, coinciding with Malaysia Day. This was announced by PKR election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who emphasized the ongoing early-stage discussions and the necessity for approval from both PH and PKR before a final decision can be made.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin, who also serves as the Selangor Menteri Besar, revealed that another round of discussions is anticipated this week to evaluate the progress of the negotiations. "We are still at the preliminary exploratory stage and cannot make a decision yet. But I will also need to report back to PH and PKR before any agreement can be finalized," he stated.

Amirudin highlighted that PH and BN plan to leverage their past experiences of both collaboration and competition in state elections to determine the most advantageous approach for Melaka. "We have worked with BN as a coalition in state elections, competed against each other in Johor and Negeri Sembilan, and worked closely together in Sabah. We will draw on all these experiences to find an outcome that benefits everyone," he elaborated.

In a related development, PH communications director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil mentioned that the coalition has its own schedule and timeline for discussions concerning the Melaka state election preparations.
