PH and BN’s Strong Alliance in Moyog Strengthens PH Candidate’s Campaign

Penampang: The cooperation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Moyog state seat is strengthening to ensure the victory of PH candidate Remysta Jimmy Taylor in the 17th Sabah state election. PKR vice president Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan noted that this collaboration, initiated by him, is not new between PH and BN but is now being realized through the coordination of the election machinery between the two parties.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, representing PH, and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, representing BN, had previously announced such cooperation at the central leadership level. Ramanan expressed gratitude to the Penampang UMNO division chief and UMNO supreme council member, Datuk Mohd Hasnol Ayub, for his full cooperation and support. Within three days of discussions, substantial backing was seen not only from Penampang UMNO but also from MCA, MIC, and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), who are committed to supporting the PH candidate in Moyog.

Ramanan emphasized his commitment to establishing a close relationship with Datuk Hasnol, who has shown full support for the candidate. Meanwhile, Mohd Hasnol reaffirmed BN Penampang’s commitment to the BN-PH cooperation as decided by the central leadership. He suggested that such alliances should be extended to other constituencies to ensure harmonious operations of the election machinery, which would aid in fulfilling the vision and agenda of each candidate for the people.

“This is what we should be doing,” Mohd Hasnol stated, expressing hope that other regions might emulate this cooperation. He plans to deploy the cooperation machinery imminently. Mohd Hasnol also described Remysta as a credible leader capable of bringing reform due to his clear vision aligned with the needs of Penampang and Moyog residents.

Remysta acknowledged the support from the combined party machinery as a morale booster for the campaign but stressed the need for continued efforts to engage voters to secure victory in Moyog. “We need to continue working to reach out to as many voters as possible,” he stated.
